Good belts

I like Pop's too, but the Blaze, Norax and Trizact CF belts are so good that I get most of my belts from Trugrit these days. That is the only place I know to get those three types.

I still use AlO belts on handles.

So at www.trugrit.com, I'm looking for these magic blaze belts, but under "Norton", what I see is:

02x72-36 R228 Aluminum Oxide
2x72-36 R821Y Norzon
2x72-36 SGR961Y Ceramic

Are the ceramic ones the blaze belts or what?

TruGrit was running the Blaze belts as a masthead ad on their home page

Now I've got a handful of Blaze belts AND a Coote coming in the mail... gonna be a helluva week :D

You asleep there Danbo? Hee! I don't know about the Silver thread comming off the grinder. I've never seen such a cone of fire. In fact, I set the tractor trailer mud flaps on fire behind the grinder. I now have a sheat of hardy back covering them. And this is with 154-cm, and ats-34. But I do have the 2 HP Bader set on Kill! Does True Grit carry the yellow Klingspores? Mike

Sure does...the thought of leaning into a fresh 60 grit belt and having the blade slip out of your hands is pretty disturbing. I bet it'd get to bone before you'd be able to pull away.

Had it happen on a 36 grit 5 years ago. Took a year to heal. Now I wear gloves. All belts are dangerous.

Once I finish up the Blaze belts I have I'm going back to the Norton Hogger's. I feel I get the same performance with the hogger's and there a few bucks less per belt plus I prefer red.

Just a warning. Th blaze belts take off knuckle skin just as fast as metal!
Yes they do....and they are sneaky sucker. They don't trhow parks with carbon steel but the fuzz and slivers coming off the belt will light up like a cigarette. I have had a little coal burningon the downstream sideof my grinding magnet a few times. Had one yesterday on the edge of the "Workmate" type table that the KMG currently rests on too :D

Yep! I've got a bunch of super glue on the tip of my finger as I type this. Gators really burn! I too like the Hoggers. They have a cooling agent in the matrix. and it does work! The down side is that they will burn the heck out of any handle mat. The blaze will do both. Every one keeps talking about the ceramic. Is this the Cubitron. and what are the different Numbers for 667, 677, etc? Mike

Mike - I think that the numbers are the belt stiffness.
What I got in today was some 977 cubitron's 707E Regalite and 3M-ite 241D's

Just call pops.....if I didnt have the receipt right in front of me I couldnt have told you that :D

i bought the super lightweight yellow Klingspors at the show last weekend and boy, what a difference. I only bought 220 and 400 grit because i had a fair number of Norton zirconia and ceramic 120 grit belts. After seeing how thes klingspors roll over the edge of the platen and make easy, fstwork out of getting those nice rsculted plungecuts, i ordered a box of 120's and some more 220's and 400's from Pop's
