I am looking for a good looking, stealthy pocket blade for around $75.

Would like to have a blade atleast 3 1/2" inches

This will be mainly used for camping

welcome to the forums,id have to say a ffg endura or delica would be nice but then again i dont know your tastes personally:thumbup:

that would be a good one as well, alot of people here on the forums rip on sog,but they are really good knives none-the-less.

spyderco endura ~$55

spyderco stretch 2 ~$70

benchmade griptilian ~$65

spyderco manix 2 ~$70

being a noob when it comes to knifes as this is my 1st one..what type of blade is a good general blade

Those would be my suggestions with the Buck 110 if you like to belt carry in a sheath and possibly the Kershaw shallot. I'm not as familar with Kershaw as Buck, Spyderco, and Benchmade; but Kershaw is a high quality knife producer with favorable pricing (if you like their style).

I'd suggest a Buck 110 and fully serrated Spyderco Endura for you camping and hiking duties. I think that would do it all for you (except heavy hacking). About $85 bucks should cover both.

Good Luck. gw

the endura comes in tons of variations. you can get plain edge, combo edge and fully serrated. full flat ground or saber ground. coated blades or no coating. waved or no wave. and the handle colours... blue, brown, green, purple, black, grey. tip up or down.

i'd also reccomened the pacific salt. it has h1 steel that is impervious to rust and it requires almost zero maintance! i havent oiled the blade in over 8 months of use. it has the same handle as the older endura 3 and it is saber ground, with a rounded off tip. ~$55. see below

Spyderco Tenacious.

For camping I like Spyderco knives with H1 steel because they don't rust.

The Endura is also an excellent choice.

style of blade

i would say full flat grind(like endure4) on a leaf shaped blade or a hollow grind(like buck vantage pro) on a nice clip shape.

i would buy both if youre just getting started.awesome edc/work knives

if you want a nice fixed blade look at the becker necker $30ish (32 at amazon.com free shipping), and one of my favorite all time knives.

just bought the becker necker for camping...still going for a folding knife as well but the becker seemed like a great deal for a all around camp knife

dude they have this new knife buy ESEE coming out soon that is the folding version of their classic izula..and for a camping folder i think its going to be awesome..its in D2 steel.

no price up yet but its something to look for in future.

and i feel you on only having $75 for a knife...im the same way.

thanks seems like the Spyderco Endura4 Black combo Blade is my choice

Excellent choice. I have 4 E4s :)

I would stick with the Sabre ground blade for camp/outdoor work. I thing the thicker blade is to your advantage in the bush. the FFG Enduras are slicing demons but they're thin and more fragile.
