Hi guys, I'm new in this forum. I've been a knife nut for a long time and after collecting some money, I'm asking about a good inexpensive fixed blade which I'm going to use for bushcraft and camping. I'm from Bulgaria, so shipping costs a lot. I've been reading about the glock knife, lone wolf, vanguard and some others, so if you can give me some advice it will be nice:)

Hands down you can't go wrong with a Falkniven F1! Great vg-10 steel nice comfortable handle, price is fair. I have one and use it for bushcraft plus I processed 3 deer with it this year. I mean the knife excels at many different tasks. It's a slicer, on top of being able to be used for wood processing fire building chores. I do light batoning with mine. Plus it's very lightweight, now it's not heavy enough for let's say shelter building, but that's why you carry a saw. Lot's of great knives out there is this the best, probably not, but for the money I'd say it would be hard to beat. Lightweight, great egos, great belly for cutting rope and food processing, thin blade for slicing, super high quality steel!

Here is a knife that I have fallen in love with:

It costs $75 here in the USA.

It is 440C and done properly. Full Flat Grind, very comfortable handle (there is a swell in the center), and just so damn functional. It is my most useful knife while out in the wilderness.

(Boker Bushcrafter XL designed by Tom Krein)

I use this knife like it was free to me - and it just impresses the hell out of me.

Eric, this is a great knife wich has beautifully crafted blade and a reasonable price, but my only problem is the shipping cost

Unfortunately, I don't have but I've used the bushlore, bushcraft basic and Hudson bay one. They are great but the shipping is more expensive than the knife itself

What if I buy one for you and send it to you. Will it get there? And how much will it cost for the shipping?

This really is a great blade on a budget. It will blow your mind.

The shipping is around 70 and up, and sometimes it doesn't come or it is confiscated on the border :( I appreciate your suggestion but I lost 100$ just because Serbia isn't in the European Union and they confiscated the knife (it was Gerber prodigy:()

At this point is sounds like it is easier to learn to make the knife!

Maybe you have custom knife makers in Bulgaria that have a good reputation and decent prices?

Best of luck in your search - It must be frustrating to be unable to buy what you want.
