Good bye, Wenger

I've been a fan of Wenger for a long time, at least since their "Buckswiss" collaborations. Sorry to see their name no longer being used on pocketknives, but all-in-all the treatment by Victorinox is the best possible outcome. "Victorinox knives will also be made in Delémont and all employees will keep their jobs."

I've seen the new Victornox-brand Evo knives. Although I haven't inspected them closely side-by-side, there are no obvious differences.

Wenger beat Victorinox on at least three accounts. A screwdriver that locks in place, scissors powered by the back spring, and a better can opener.

I'll grant you the locking screwdriver, but the self-sharpening serrations on the scissors makes them useless at some common tasks, like cutting nails. The can opener I think is better on the Vic, for the simple reason that it works and incorporates a small screwdriver.
