Good, cheap knives. Svord, Higo, Mora, Opinel, what else?

I love my moras, opinels, Higo's and svords. They are great knives for the price, and I was wondering if any of you know of any other knives that are both dirt cheap, and fairly good. Thanks in advance!

Not sure how amazing they are(I like Higos and Opinels and Svords but I wouldn't call them amazing either), but certain SAK models are really cheap, then there's the Douk Douk as well.

Antonini offers some classy inexpensive friction folders.

I've just been to their site. Do they have any friction folders other than the Pattadas that you know of?

And also

What kind/grade of stainless is on them there Pattadas?

I liked some of the other traditionals on their site also but wonder about the "420" steel used.

Swiss army knives, and Rough Rider slip joints. Rough Rider's aren't anything special but they are well made and they do a proper heat treat on 440a so it's definitely usable.

I don't own an Antonini so I can't vouch for the quality of steel. I've had my eye on the 102mm caltagirone. 420 or not I'm sure it's up to the task of cutting salami, cheese and fruit at a picknick in style.

Cold Steel's Kudu, Scalper, Long Hunter (same as Scalper except stainless w/ poly handles), Roach Belly, etc. I've also had good luck with the Wal-Mart Kershaws, and RADA kitchen knives.

Just a few, varying in price:

- Aitor knives ( Castors are nice)
- Douk Douk
- Cudeman knives (never tried one, but been meaning to for the price)

a few other suggestions:
- Schrade makes some nice inexpensive knives, including their old timer pocket knives and the imperial sodbuster
- Kershaw has a few offerings in the budget range, including the DWO classic (less than $15)
- Buck Bucklite can be found under $20
- Case sodbuster Jr. can be found for $20

I'll just throw this out there. I bought a Ken Warner KW03 utility fixed blade for about $13. I use it at work for cutting boxes and cardboard. It's no super steel but it behaves very similar to 440C for me. :)

The Mercator K55 is a knife with a very very long track record of working well anywhere from a construction site to war zones.

KA-BAR Dozier Lightweight Folder.
Not cheap, inexpensive, and a dang good folder.

I read that the current Colt branded knives are pretty well made. I have not paid much attention to the pricing, but I believe that they are inexpensive.

Kabar Dozier and some of the Cold Steel products are pretty inexpensive. I'm fond of the CS Tuff Lite. It gets carried.

Victorinox kitchen knives are cheap and very usable.

I seldom buy "cheap" knives, but I do pick up a few inexpensive ones.

Another vote for the Douk-Douk.

Wish I hadn't dismissed Opinels & Douk-Douks as a kid, I missed out on some great knives for the money.
