I prefer the Tenacious -- the G-10 scales are much nicer that the FRN scales on the RAT folder, but both give you a lot of knife for about the same price. The Spyderco has more belly & a higher flat grind so it's a better slicer (food, especially), but the RAT is a bit more of a classic design (though some might not be wild about the blade on the RAT being set up a little higher -- you'll knock your knuckles while cutting a little more easily).
Seriously difficult to imagine going wrong with either.
