Good Coffee

I like the Kirkland Signature Colombian Supreme from Costco. It is a medium roast. If you drink you coffee with milk you probably want a darker roast but if you drink it black then a medium roast is probably better.

The bag has a leopard on the it and comes in regular and decaf.

My favorite coffee is Caribou Coffee. I have yet to find anything that tastes as smooth and as good. For a darker roast, the Obsidian is top notch.

Caribou is it. We go with the Expresso beans.

Too bad they don't offer the Yergcheffe any longer.

Everyone around seems to like Community Dark Roast the best, except when we go for coffee and chicory up river in the French Quarter.

I'm lucky enough to have a couple of local roasters. Guatemalan and Sumatran are my favorites at the moment.

I've been happy with Braun drip coffee pots but the next one will be a Technivorn.

Another vote for Obsidian from Caribou's Coffee. I make it in a french press. Very nice coffee. I get it in a 2/5 pound bag from my local Sam's Club. When the Obsidian is out of stock I pick up a large bag of Dunkin Donuts regular blend. I also pick up Ethiopian Harrar from a local roaster/coffee shop.

I have one of these with a stainless carafe.

I have 3 main gripes.

1. I have the 10 cup version and its 10 small cups, them folk’s overseas need to get bigger mugs

2. The carafe I have doesn’t have a pour spout. It works fine for cups but it’s a pain to pour into a thermos.

3. My biggest gripe is the manual shut of on the drip thingy. When you pull the part off that holds the grinds it drips and makes a mess. You can close the hole and I do this because I hate wiping down the countertops when I should be getting ready for work. If its 330 in the morning it’s easy to remember to open that thing up. Then it wants to overflow and get grinds everywhere. Just what you need when you haven’t had any coffee yet and should be on the road for work!

I will say though that right away I noticed a difference in taste. Next on the list is a really good burr grinder and some good beans. The end goal is to do my own roastin.
