Are there any? I have some outrageous books on ornamental ironwork, pottery and other subjects, but the Knives 2000 is leaving me with a hunger for some COLOR pictures. Don't get em wrong, I really really liked this book but I'd like to see some better quality pictures. Serious knife porn. Know what I mean?

Check out the book on Steve Johnson's site. It is chock full of great color pictures from big name maker's, and a lot of the knives featured have never been seen in the U.S. http://www.srjknives.com/srjavail.htm

I would strongly suggest the Knives Points of Interest series by Jim Weyer. I consider Jim and Louise friends, but these books remain my favorites without reservation. There is a series of 5 books containing beautiful photography of custom knives of all types.

Bernard Levin also has some books on pocketknives that I enjoy.

If you can get your hands on one The Antique Bowie Knive Book is a collectable in itself.

I have heard rumors of 400 and up at an auction, but have seen them in the 200 to 250 range.

Get a copy of Weyer's Knives: Points of Interest. Its a four volume collection of photos from the foremost cutlery photographer. Great high quality full color Pics and fantastic knives.

Not2sharp is right on the money. For gorgeous pics of sexy knives, Jim Weyer's Knives:points of Interest series is the best. The new edition V (1999) costs $60 from AG Russell but some online book dealers might have a better deal.

Fountainman,

Email me your address and I'll send you a free copy of the Buck book. fred@knifeoutlet.com. It may not be what you are looking for, but it will fit on your coffee table.

You might do best on the price by odering Points of Interest from the Weyers. They also might have some at Amazon or Barnes and Nobels as well as AGR.
It is a 5 volume set. the new one came out a little over 1 year ago.

Another cool book is LIVINGON THE EDGE. It is a book about Bob Lovless. Not really a coffee table book but has a lot of neat pictures

If you have any interest in antiques. R.L.Wilson has a few very good colorful books
out. The Peacemakers takes a look at the arms of the American west (lots of great pictures of 19th century knives, and guns), I would also recommend Steel Canvas another book by this author in the same format that looks at the art of gun/knife engraving.

Knife porn huh, little scared by that

No one has said it yet, but "Randall Made Knives". It is on my coffee table and while only the cover is in color, I did actually read it.

Wow, thanks for all the good suggestions! I'll definitely check out the Points of Interest series and I'll keep my eyes peeled for a copy of the Antique Bowie Book. There's a couple of good used book shops around where I could check.

Thank you Fred, for your kind offer. I'd love to have a copy of the Buck book.

Dhall: By "knife porn" I am referring to pictures of knives that titillate the senses, not naked babes with 12" bowie knives! Although, come to think of it, that might not be so bad either.
