Good dog tags?

I'm looking for some high quality dog tags, not the cheesy anodized aluminum things that seem so trendy today. I want dog tags that will still be around if something really bad happens to me. I don't expect to ever need them but, I travel to some really remote areas where something bad "could" happen.

They need to survive a long time in the elements mother nature could throw at them, especially corrosion. I also want them to resist melting in high heat whether in a structure or forest fire or something less intense like burning gasoline.

I'm looking for something that will provide identification if I can't do it myself. I'm also looking for a set that will provide Medical Alert information.

For general medical status issues, I'm thinking about using a service like this: http://www.roadid.com/ which would be in addition to the dog tags. I do not have a cell phone and I do not plan on getting one so, the "ICE" (In Case of Emergency) cell phone thing won't work for me.

For rescue and recovery I'm considering: http://www.findmespot.com/ or a Personal Locator Beacon so, hopefully if things go bad I won't need the dog tags but, that is a totally different topic. ;)

TIA,
Sid

Sid;

For civilians, I'd try Brigade Quartermasters (actiongear.com)
They'll make you quality dog tags with whatever information you want on them, and their pricing is good. They also offer several colors (black, red, and stainless to the best of my knowledge).

I have a US Army dog tag chain.
A friend of mine ordered it for me :)
It's very robust :thumbup:
It has these written on it :
* Surname
* First name, middle initial
* Social Security Number
* Blood type
* Religion
