Good dress knife?

Out of those choices, I'm a sucker for a fine cutter, so personally, I'd go with the Caly 3. However, aesthetically, the Kopa seems like the better of the choices. Perhaps I just like the idea of an "old meets new" kind of knife. While the Shoki is a pretty little knife, I don't like how the front finger choil meets with the sharpened edge, which, under medium use, could slice my finger.

I like the looks of the Nagara, but the Kopa is coming out in Carbon Fiber this year, and I'm waiting for that one, or if you can find a pearl handled Kopa, that would be one beautiful knife.

I'd go with the Shoki. To me, it does't look cheap but does have a bit of style and class.

There are lots and lots of sheeple in California. I ought to know. I live here too. My recommendation would be to carry a knife that requires two hands to open . . . either a slipjoint or a lockback. Using two hands to open a knife is far less intimidating than opening a knife with one hand . . . especially an AO knife. In my case, I carry an A.G. Russell Folding Hunter lockback in 154CM that I picked up from SMKW for a song. With a satin-finished drop point blade and a black micarta handle, it looks like a kitchen knife when its opened. You can find flashier knives than that, of course. But here in LaLaLand, I find that discretion is the better part of valor.

Either this one

Does anyone have a pic of this puppy. Work pc won't let on thier sight.

I don't see an Mcusta knife in my source that has a model number like 2.9 and they have at least 45 different Damascus folders.

Is this the one you are talking about - Mcusta Gentlemen's Folder Damascus 55D.

This Mcusta is VERY reasonably priced and very dressy with a deep carry and it comes in different scale materials:

Thanks for taking the time to help with my question. But the filters here at this pc won't let me view your picture. It must be photobucket picture. They consider that a play time sight. Anyway thanks again

I think it would go good with the suit, it's smallish and not aggressive looking. the carbon fiber makes it modern stylish and sleek. The ergonomics, I would think, would be good for prestidigitation, been waiting at least 30 years to use that word in a sentence :)

I Meant they Offer some Damascus Folders with a blade length of 2.9. I think that's a good length for a "Gentleman's" folder. and it would probably be legal on your travels to anywhere.

I have and like the SOG Access Card 2.0 with the sheepsfoot blade. It is very thin, light, descreet, but opens with a slight push of the finger and snap of the wrist (one hand-not assisted opener). I find it quite handy, but nearly as handy as a SAK Soldier in Alox. I carried a SAK Tinker in a suite for years. http://newgraham.com/store/product/5732/Access-Card-2.0-SOGAC76/

Of the ones you mention, I like the Benchmade 480 shoki.

I guess it depends on how dressy you're talking about.

The Paul Presto folders are nice knives.

The version by Doug Ritter may be the best one of all.

I mistakenly returned the first one I bought because it had VERY slight blade play.

After buying many other mid to high end folders, I realized that very slight play is common, and nothing to worry about. I now consider slight blade play to be a non-issue, kind of like failed ‘spine whack’ tests.

So, I just ordered another one. First time I’ve ever re-bought a knife.

This is easily the nicest gent’s folder I’ve had. As a bonus, the locking mechanism is fantastically fun to play with.

Women like this knife too. That’s always a good thing.

I have a couple other small dress knives including the Caly 3 CF ZPD189 and a Limited Editon Benchmade Sequel 707-701.

That Rittter RSK mk4 Presto is nicer than all of them, smaller too.

Well, on your list I would pick the Caly III. Very nice knife. A suggestion not on your list would be this......looks really classy!

Spyderco Terzuola

This fourth collaboration with Spyderco is the Bob T SLIPIT. SLIPITS are a new benchmark in knives, non-locking one-hand open folders with pocket clips. BobT’s SLIPIT has a CPM-S30V modified Wharncliffe blade that to close must overcome the resistance of a small ball bearing. Bob calls this a Ball Joint non-locking system; he’s developed and refined on many custom pieces for close to a decade. The Ball Joint also half-stops the blade when closing for safety. Behind the cutting edge he placed a finger choil/guard keeping the index finger away from the open blade and keeping the blade from closing on the hand when cutting. He also made the blade under three inches keeping it legal in most jurisdictions and countries (England and Germany to name a couple)for carry anywhere. Carbon fiber handle and back spacer make this carry friendly SLIPIT both hi-tech and luxurious. Left/right pocket clipis nested in its’ mounting and won’t pivot or loosen. A folded leather lanyard comes with it, tied off with a silver crimp.
