Good edc flipper >40$

Thanks, not sure where I should go from here, more flippers, or more manuals like my tenacious. Flippers do seem a little more enticing and affordable.

A flipper is only a deployment method (as are thumb studs, thumb holes, etc) and can be manual or assisted. The Leek is spring assisted opening, but many flippers are manual openers. Price rarely has anything to do with deployment method or manual/ assisted opening, but is more a reflection of materials and craftsmanship.

As far as where to go next, it depends on what you're into and what your budget is. I started with SAK's, then turned to budget folders. Once I bought my first higher quality knife I wanted more. I'm not to the point of custom knives (yet), but I've recently parted with most of my budget blades to acquire nicer pieces. If I don't carry a blade I usually part with it unless it has sentimental value or is collectible. I sold my Spyderco Ambitious after I acquired a Dragon Fly. Last week I sold off 4 budget folders and used the funds for a Spyderco Manix 2. Point is, tastes can (and often do) change. Just try to stay within your budget and enjoy the addiction.

Unfortunately I'm on a tight budget right now, I'm only 19, 50 is the most I could see myself spending on a knife right now, the tenacious I got for 40 something. Will definitely enjoy it though!

Another vote for leek. That is the knife that springboarded my collection

1. Kershaw ripple
2. Kershaw cryo 1/2
3. Kershaw skyline

what do you guys think about my suggestions?

Sub $40 go with Kershaw... Leek, Thermite, Cryo, Skyline, etc just to name a few. Usually anything in their $30-50 range is solid for the price and will handle EDC tasks like a champ. I personally love the Cryo and Thermite, but the Skyline is awesome as well. Leeks are nice and slim but I'm always paranoid about breaking the tip (and judging by the amount of broken ones on Ebay my fears are justified).

I actually ordered a black leek from a guy here today, blem, but works just fine and looks great.

Ok, so you went with the Leek? Still want suggestions??
Get a Kershaw Skyline. Great knife for the money.
Also, if you want something a bit beefier, get a Spyderco Tenacious.

I actually have a tenacious! And yeah more suggestions are welcome, I probably will go with the skyline after this one seeing as so many are recommending that one, hopefully can buy from a guy on here.

Cryo, Leek, Clash can't really go wrong. These are some of the best bang for the buck knives available. I have all three, and they all have their place, but I find the cryo is my edc lately. I'm not really a collector as much as a user, and I'm pretty frugal. I would rather trash a $20 clash than a $300 ZT 560 (not that I don't want one, but I don't think I would be using it all that much)
