Hey all,
im in the us navy in the submarine force and I'm constantly goin through cheap ass knives. i really need a good edc that will cost me at the most $100. i want something real dependable and will hold its edge for a long ass time. and i recently got ripped off by those fake microtechs, so i decided to get some extra opinions before i made another bad decision. thanks

I have no suggestions as there are hundreds of quality knifes out there by all the major makers. I would however, suggest that you set some money aside for some sort of sharpening system. Nothing worst than pulling out your trusty knife then process to have to try half dozen several time to cut a zip tie.

How about a ZT 200 or 350? These can be had for around $100. Also a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 or Military. If you want to spend under $100 then a Spyderco Manix 2 would also do a good job for you. In the Benchmade line a 710 or 940 can be found for close to the $100 range. Good Luck! Kevin

Kershaw Speedform II. It has ELMAX super steel which holds a very good edge, a beefy liner lock, and 3d machined G-10 handles for under $80 from several places.

Boom. Done.

I would definitely go with a Spyderco Military or paramilitary 2. Both can be found in their standard g10 s30v versions for around $100. The spyderco sage 1 would be a bit classier alternative to the millie/para2 for about the same money. A benchmade Ritter griptilian or a 710 would also be a good choice in that price range. For a beefy little pocket tank the zt0350 fits the bill as would the upcoming 0780.

all good info above. My suggestion? Mini Grip is enough knife, a version for everyones tasts and small enough for your quarters. May look at the Ritter version for better edge retention. Thanks for your service.

All good choices right there. I'll throw in my current favorite - Spyderco Caly 3.5

As an ex USN corpsman, I'd like to say thanks for your service also. I recently won a give away in the Knife Rights drawing. If you think a Spyderco Manix 2, partially serrated will do the trick, send me your shipping info and it will be on it's way to you. It's new in box, same knife as in the pic but with a partially serrated edge.

Any knife made by Emerson. The guy makes knives for Seals do I need to say more I would start with a CQC-7 they are a awsome. That said they are a bit more money but save up, you will not regret it.

Doza...sorry if I wasn't too clear. It's yours if you think it will work for you, no cost. If you want to send $10 for shipping that's cool but not necessary. Ummm...unless I'm shipping it halfway around the world

well thats awfully generous of you but don't be offended but i don't feel comfortable with sending a stranger any money over the internet lol. but if what you are saying is legit i can definitely send you my shipping info.

If you don't have a PayPal account no problem, as long as it's not going to cost me an arm and a leg to send, it's still yours. Send me your shipping info...

this site is not letting me send email do you have another email account i could contact you with
