Good EDC Tactical Folder

Way too much liability in carrying a gun, especially if you have a carry license. I carry folders but not with tactical intent.

Pull one and your done! Legally of course.

@Franciscomv: I like the look of the Bump a lot as well, but the new ones are made in China with a crappier steel then Kershaw used to make them. I'm just worried about the quality of them (and the only place with them in Canada is Amazon... I like feeling the knife first before buying.)

Can anybody comment on the EDC use of the 4" Ti-Lite? How practical is it?

Thanks again.

Oh, OK. I've got a couple of the older US made Bumps (Speed and Spec), no idea what the quality on the Chinese ones is, although Kershaw has built a good reputation for its imported budget knives.

About the Ti-Lite, it's a nice knife and it will take a sharp edge. The thing is that the stiletto like blade doesn't have the best geometry for utility cutting, especially for slicing. It's a rather thick, narrow blade. It will do stuff like opening packages, sharpening pencils, cutting twine and so for just fine. It will make a mess of slicing an apple or tomato, though. You can always pair it up with a SAK, that way you'll have a nice slim blade for slicing plus a couple of extra tools.

There are lots of on-line vendors that ship to Canada. My family lives there and I send them knives all the time so they can bring them to me when they visit Argentina (they're coming down here in a week!).

@Franciscomv: Yeah, I know Kershaw has good knives, but I'm a little hesitant about buying one without trying or feeling it first. Since the Bump was discontinued so long ago, and Kershaw doesn't actually have it listed as an actively sold knife, there are no vendors other then amazon that are selling it. As well, the blade steel was changed to 8Cr13MoV, which is still a good steel, but nowhere near as good as the one the original Bumps had (S30V!). So I'm not sure how I feel about the Chinese-manufactured revival.
As for the Ti-Lite edc, yes, I always have a SAK on me, but it's not very convenient to use (it takes so long to deploy it, lol). So I guess that solves the other issue of the slicing.
Many thanks.

My vote is for the 6k, it's a great knife, especially for the price, opens before it's out of your pocket (almost) and does whatever you need it to do. I had mediocre expectations and it surpassed them all.
