Good EDC

To me, an ideal EDC is something that you will wear everywhere and a lot of that has to do with the sheath.

Leatherman made an awesome green emu foot inlaid Badass sheath for my Boney Active Duty. I love it. It's my first horizontal carry sheath.

I have sufficient circumference to make sure that not too much handle sticks out but not so much circumference to make sitting with a horizontal sheath uncomfortable. After a few hours I practically forgot it was there and almost walked in to the Cumberland mall (looking for an ATM that had cash) with it in plain sight. I decided that wasn't a very good idea so I put my Blade show pass in my pocket and un-tucked my shirt and it became fairly well concealed (the handle printed a bit). I'm not sure of the legality of that move but I thought it was a good choice at the time.

For my urban environment, the Boney Active Duty is perfect. It's light weight and a good slicer. I have a tougher blade in my car if I need to pry.

A Game Warden would work very well. A Cultellus or a Meaner Street might be too long to work well horizontally. A skinnier guy might find a Game Warden too long but only if he doesn't want it to print under an un-tucked shirt.

I'm going to have my BAD re-handled so I might wind up with a Boney Active Warden for an EDC (Active Warden = Active Duty with a Game Warden length handle). That would make it even easier to conceal and a little less pokey at the butt.

Unless you are going to ugly up the knife with a lot of tough cutting or you are really skinny you should consider using the Cultellus horizontally.

My EDC will be pretty just like it's sheath. It's too big to hide so you have to make it look less threatening. Green dyed stabilized burl wood handles with mosaic pins should do the trick.
