Good evening Blade Forum members,

I'm happy to introduce myself as a new member of the forum. I reside in California but I'm presently overseas in the Philippines. Once I upgrade my membership shortly, I look forward to being a Gold member. I look forward to making friends or acquaintances on here and admiring as well as purchasing knives as well as sharing my knowledge and receiving information and advice from others. By the way, the Philippines is home to a lot of beautiful exotic wood, it also hosts three of the known ironwoods of the world, as well as beautiful rare species of wood that you likely have not heard of and or not on the usual market. If anyone would like to talk wood and also exchange work or just simply have questions, and or about the Philippines, just send me a message. I look forward once again going through the informational posts, communicating with you and receiving inquiries and questions and being a solid member of this forum.

Thank you,

Louie

Welcome Louie...always room for another Goldenstate member. Is there a type of knife you like better than others or mostly collect?

For me it's traditional/slipjoint and better folders like Chris Reeves, Hinderer, and some select ZT knives. Just got these in the last couple of days.

Nice blade Derek! What's the dimensions on that beauty?

Welcome man, and have fun watching the addiction run wild now that you're here ;)

Good evening everyone. Thank you for your warm welcome. I apologize this is only my second post. I am now settled back in California. Here are beautiful wood species listed in order from left to right from the Philippines that you have either never heard or are rarely seen on the market and are all extremely rare. They would all make fantastic knife material and I apologize as my images do not do justice being that I had used an IPAD. Once I upgrade my membership these will be available for sale so consider this a sneak preview. From Left to Right: Malabayabas, Molave , Ceylon Ironwood a true Ironwood, Apitong, Merbau, Kamagong Ebony a true Ironwood. For now, I can entertain questions regarding the beautiful wood. Thank you, Louie
