Good expressions for how sharp a knife is

Another one from Mr. Fisk......Will slice the Christmas ham so thin the relatives will go somewhere else next year.
(something like that, hope I got it right)

Over in the Himalayan Imports forum we talk about things being 'full body shiver' sharp....given one's state of being upon feeling the edge....

This came up in a few other threads and somewhere I coined my favorite phrase to date:

murderously sharp

:p

Invisibly sharp........ so sharp that you can't even see or feel the edge until it's......

UH OH!!!!!!!.......... too late.

Sharper than a serpent's tooth.

"How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is
To have a thankless child!"

Shakespeare, King Lear (Act 1, Scene 4)

"He'd be sharper than a serpent's tooth, if he wasn't as dull as ditch water."

Dickens, Our Mutual Friend

- Rob M.

So sharp you can shave off a teensy layer of skin without drawing blood? That's what happened to me the first time I handled a Chive.

I like "stupid sharp". Kinda funny because you could say it's so sharp it's stupid because it wouldn't be practical for anything. You could also have "Oh my god I cut a 3 inch gash in my leg and I didn't even feel it, sharp!"

"So sharp it'll make a razor blush".
Bill Bagwell wrote that phrase in an article one time, always liked it.
