Good first Busse knife?

everytime i look at it, i like the bushwacker more and more. it's deffinately what i'm leaning towards as of now...however, some people have been saying that a smaller busse would be better but after seeing what you guys have, i have a feeling that after i get my "first" busse, i'll be getting more anyway:D so i think i'll start with a bushwacker despite my preferance for a thicker blade on a knife of that size. then move on from there:p i'd still like to see what you guys have to say though...
 
Go to Busse subforum and read up.

BWM is an excellent blade, for user purposes it is awesome. If you want something thicker get an LE, it is more expensive but fatter mistresses generally are far more expensive then store offering BWM CG as well.

With all that said I have a thing for FSH, its longer then ASH-1 and shorter then BM, but the chopping potential will give almost any mistress a run for its money. Also a lot of people say that if they can only keep one busse from their collection they would chose FSH, especially HHFSH.

For something cheaper then FSH look at NMSPNO, people tend to love them. Personally I'm not a big fan, but its cheaper and very effective.

The BWM wont be my "first" busse...i my urban grudge should be arriving in the next few days...but i figured i would pick one up at factory prices, and if i didnt like it, i can ALWAYS get my money out of it, or more...so i can see what your saying about a thicker one...but from everything i hear, its a very capable knife and a great all arounder:thumbup: might as well try one, right:D:D:D
 
All considerations aside, the Fusion Steel Heart (FSH) is the Busse Combat logo knife and I think you would enjoy using it. You can use it for light chopping, it batons very well, and is short enough that you can use it for medium-sized knife tasks as well.

There have been many FSH varieties so you will be able to find it. Thin, obese, full flat ground, sabre, you name it.

Pictured below is the 2007 Special Edition Fusion Steel Heart with INFI, green/black G10 handles, full flat ground, .25" thick at the ricasso:

So if you're looking for an "intro" Busse I think a FSH should be the one since it is a meaningful blade and represents much of what Busse is all about.

I have a several knives in the 5 to 7 inch blade "fighter" size. As well as RAT RC-3 & RC-4 for discreet belt carry. Machetes etc..

I use a full size katana w/o much trouble. What I DON'T have is a big-a**, long bladed chopper like a Mistress. I think it will round out my Izula, to full size sword, group very well.

I got the black G-10 on my Bushwacker Mistress, did someone say there were handle issues?? :(
 
Busse HHFSH its one awesome knife. Its was my first Busse and my favorite even though I've gotten more since then. It'll always be the one! ;):thumbup:
