• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Good first knife for sister.

If you haven't seen it already, check out this section that Derrick from KSF has on his site: http://www.knivesshipfree.com/knives-for-kids/

Like many others, my first knife was a SAK. I think a locking blade is a good idea. Now that Victorinox has locking blades on some of the smaller folders, maybe that's what you want to look at.

Someething like this: http://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-Swiss-Army-Evolution-Knife/dp/B00KNO2HWM.

Having things like a screwdriver and reamer on there also make it less likely that she'll use the knife for something it's not meant for, too.

Edit: maybe this model (model S111) is better, it replaces the corkscrew with a philips bit. I'm guessing 8 year olds aren't big wine drinkers.
