Love Case CV

Large stockman in 6.5 bone stag. Great knife.

I am behind the folks who root for the Case, but I have heard wonderful things about Boker. Also, I was also born on the 20th. Fancy that. Happy birthday to all, and welcome especially to Washington.

Great pic of that knife - stock photo from a suppliers website, or did you take that one?

I have one too. Can't live without it these days. If you don't mind the size & weight, it's an incredible user.

thx - cpr

Check out the MooreMaker patterns at mooremaker.com. The quality is great, the prices are fair plus the blades are 1095 steel.

I was going to suggest this also. I got one last week, one of the 2 blade lockback trappers (the working delrin handled small one).

The shipping was really fast, too.

Mine b-day is the 19th - on my wish list are a Snow and Neilly Hudson Bay Axe and a Queen Copperhead (D2, Amber Bone).

My first traditional, as an adult, was a Case pocket worn mini-Trapper. You describe a two bladed knife with roughly equal length. IMHO this means you want a trapper or a muskrat. I have several Case and Bokers. Find the design, handle material and steel is what pushes me in one direction or the other. The mini is the size you want from your description. I have a regular Boker (Westmark) Trapper and it is big for pocket carry in khakis. Realize with carbon steel blades like the Case CVs, that a patina will form and rust can occur if the blade isn't wipped down with oil periodically. I personally am hooked on the Case yellow handles CV knives for daily use - yard, garden, woods, office. I see ACE has the Case Yellow handled CV knives for $36 online.

If you want bigger, I'll make you a deal on the Boker Westmark trapper - drop me a pm.

Also, another choice would be a Boker Copperhead. I like the second blade on the copperhead much better than the spey blade on a trapper....much better.

Boker and Case are good knives - hard to go wrong with either.

I took that shot. With a Canon PowerShot S410 Elph.

Good little digicam. I used to fool around with a Canon EOS 10 35mm but haven't invested in a good digital SLR.

Thanks for the kind words.

Take it from a guy who owns many customs as well as production knives. You simply cannot go wrong with a case knife!
