Good fixed blade under a 100 bucks?

Get a Ka-bar Becker BK-16 or a Ka-bar Mark 1, and then use the left over money towards a leather paddle strop.

Also, check out the fixed blades by Hess Knives, especially the Tiburon. They have many nice options in that price range if that style appeals to you.

Good luck in your choice!

be aware that the buck mesa (used to be a walmart exclusive, I'm not sure if that's still the case) - it's also 420hc steel. So it's tough for a stainless steel, but still not really bushcraft league. Otherwise, I really like the look of it and it seems like they got the ergos right.
I think that the reason for the breakage is the hollow grind...

Hess Knifeworks.

Company owned and knives made by former Marbles employees. Blades made by GEC. Hess Knives are well made and an incredible value.

Wow. Thanks for posting. Never heard of Hess. Seems like they make an amazing assortment of knives for right at a hundred bucks.

I will definitely be grabbing one in the future.

fwiw, I like the Habilis Pathfinder mentioned earlier by bladefire, but it seems to be double the $100 cut off...
Too bad. I really don't understand how so many 1095 based knives are expecting supersteel prices. This is why Becker's 1095 crovan is best value in this category.

If it is going to be your EDC knife for camping and such you certainly will consider Stainless as a first choice and for just a little more than your mentioned budget you could have a Jaktkit knv2, the blade of these are a little over 4 inches their handles are top design they have proven reliability in the most challenging situations. I Have the 99cr18mov version and it is an awesome knife, easy to keep clean with zero maintenance required, it's my favorite for cold weather condition.
