I have had some good fortune lately. I got a hold of about 10 of Ron Hood videos at a great price. I love them. I have watched them over and over again. In most of the videos he uses alot of different knives but in almost all of them he has one main knife that he uses the most. It looks like a Victorinox swiss army knife with a locking blade and wood saw. Since he obviously knows what he is doing, I have orderd one from SMKW. I think it will be just what i need for the woods. Ron Hood is the Man in my book and his wife is a real cutie also.

I've only seen a few of his vid's on youtube, but Can say used right a Vic or Wenger is a great choice imo, I carry one of mine everyday, they get more use than any of my other knives.

I have a bunch of Swiss army knives but none of them have a wood saw on them. This will be my first one with a saw. Also this will be my first one with a locking blade so i am excited about getting it.

Rons Rucksack use is legendary. Look at the Hunter also.
It has a deer on it top right.

Yes bearthedog, the Rucksack is what i orderd. I forgot the name of it. haha. Thanks for the reminder. I think it will make a great backup knife to go with my TAK in the woods. I didnt realize how much a small saw will come in handy untill i saw his videos.

You are right about the saw. I was out in the bush today using the saw on my One Handed Trekker. A week and a half ago I was hiking in the woods and a huge pine tree was hanging over the trail. I used the saw to cut some branches off so we could pass. A machete would have been good but I don't often hike with one. The Ruck is a great choice.

You can't watch the Woodsmaster videos, and not want to get a Rucksak if you don't have one already. Even though I don't use a sak that often, I always have it in my pack. The saw is definitely the handiest.

I always try to get Swiss Army Knives with the saw and scissors--apart from the main blade, these are the two that I think I end up using most. (Though lately I've gravitated more toward multi-tools, and, there too, I've tended to go with ones that have saws and scissors.)

I know i am going to sound like a spoiled brat by saying this but I like the multitools also and i have a leatherman blast with a saw but You know those things are heavy to tote around everday so I think the rucksack will work better for me. IMO.

Well, I got my Rucksack in today from SMKW. Thats is a great knife! Its gonna be an everyday carrier. Also, I didnt order a carry sheath to go with it but SMKW sent me one anyway and didnt even charge me for it. That was pretty good of them. I love that knife. Perfect companion for the woods guys.
