Good Hawks for Deployment

I personally found the VTAC to be a little on th short side (handle) for me. I much prefer the original wooden handled version which also has a slightly longer edge. I do wish the handle was at least a few inches longer too...

we are re-handling some VN style hawks currently because of the same concern, brother 'L.

i thought a 24-incher was over-kill but right now it is the clear winner.

- you can swing that spiked end, and not feel like it is going to poke you right in the brain.

i am skinning the long one with Multicam 1000 Denier Cordura tonite after my class - (or maybe tomorrow) - i will get a picture up in the tactical hawks thread probably, since they are kind of related to that, and a bunch of other brothers have tacti-cool hawks i want them to post too....

i'm thinking ARPAT for the short one i have ready to skin...;

Ive got a VTAC- i got it for a 100 bux over at Botach, and if your enemy is wearing a helmet that spike will be your best friend. You can always use the side of the hawk as a hammer face anyhow, get the lagana vtac

I find the new synthetic Fusion to be more than adequate. I donated one to a Marine in a thigh rig he ordered a few months ago. I like the metal band under the head for weapon on weapon traps, although I'm sure that has little chance of happening, it's still a design feature that lends the hawk to combat. The handle is a tad bit longer than the VTAC as well. I also prefer the gripping surface of the fusion. Your hand, gloved or not, locks into the ridges.
