hi all.
This doesn't necessarily belong here, as i purchased a knife from Dave's website. but, with that said, i know he is a dealer on BF, so i am going to add the feedback to this forum.

I am starting to get more into one-hand opening knives. I have decided that i like the flipper style the best. i have tried several of the more "expensive" brands. But, i have had good luck with the more budget-friendly flippers as well. With that said, the Kershaw Skyline seemed to have a really good reputation. BF dealer member "kershawguy" i knew also has a good reputation. so, i purchased a Skyline with the blackwash finish from kershawguy.com.

I received the knife and ended up scrunching up my face a bit. i could not deploy the knife with the flipper. i sent Dave an email. he responded back sameday and suggested i loosen the pivot a bit (made sense). i did so, and got it to a point where i could deploy the knife with a flick of the wrist....but, the blade was then borderline rubbing on the scale.

i sent Dave my findings, saying that i wasn't going to trouble him with the return of a $50 knife. he would have none of it and told me to send it back. i did so, and he immediately sent me a replacement.

i was a new customer to Dave. and honestly, i wasn't sure if i had a legit gripe or if i was just being a whiner. but, he responded very promptly (and professionally) to all my correspondence. and, as i said, he sent me a replacement almost immediately.

i don't often (i.e. never) start threads like this, but this seemed worth mentioning. i couldn't be more pleased with the customer service i received from Dave at kershawguy.com.

thanks Dave.

I would say it does belong here for the very reason you have said!

Dave is great. I have only had one transaction with him but it went flawlessly. The irony is that it was not for a Kershaw but rather a Spyderco Millitary. It is in my pocket right now. Thanks Dave!

Kershawguy is very good to deal with. I just bought a Skyline Blem from him off ebay. My Skyline was a bit stiff for the first couple times but once you get the technique down it opens great. Try pushing forward on the flipper (forcing closed), then snap it back. It should open with no wrist action.

You might try looking on youtube for some better instructions. I know there are a couple videos involving XM-18s which also require a good technique to open due to their sucky detent.

I have bought from Dave several times via his website and his Ebay page, first class guy, ships fast and his prices are very competitive. Good inventory too.
