Is 80crv2 good for making kiridashi and if not what would you guys recommend for a beginner?
Because I am selling custom kiridashi to friend but I am still a beginner so any help is much appreciated

That would work fine. A kiridashi is only a small blade cutter, so it needs no high alloy special steel. 1075, 1084, 1095, 5160, 80CrV, 52100 would all work fine.
