Good Knife For the Mrs.

Forgot to add why I think the Full SE ZDP Endura will be a perfect fit for her

She will carry it in her purse, and the lockback will keep the blade firmly shut, untill she wants it open.

She cuts, tape, cardboard, zipties, and other rough cuts where SE will be a perfect fit.

ZDP... I should only need to sharpen it a few times a year

Poorfish on eBay was selling them for $45 shipped, so if it gets gone it's not a big deal

Clip and hole make it perfect for throwing in her pocket on the way out... (Mostly a quick run to Wally world and leaving work)

She can't break it

Nice strong lock

Kershaw RAM with the awesome Hawk lock that will keep her fingers out of the blade path.

I just sharpened mine the other day for the first time in awhile and stropped with diamonds and I think it is the sharpest I have got a knife so far and the previous winner was M4 followed by ZDP. It easily tree tops hairs and is crazy sharp and pretty amazing that it seems sharper then those other 2 'super steels'. I think I am going to have to get some more of Kershaw's 14XXX steel.

Benchmade:

I sure don't see those for $45. I see some for $75 but that's getting too expensive for me.

When it comes to buying knives for the Mrs.

I just buy knives I want.

She claims the ones she wants in short order.

My wife loves the Spyderco Ladybug I got her. She didn't understand why I carried a blade on my daily...now she's converted.

Funny story about LOML: For years, I tried to interest her in carrying a knife, but she was determined that "anything I need to cut, I can cut with scissors." I keep our kitchen knives sharp, and she has her favorites of those, but other than food prep, she used scissors. At least I sharpened them up so they cut well, and that was about that. Every so often I'd offer her one of my knives, h*ll any of my knives she could have had. No interest.

Last summer my father died and we flew down there to settle his affairs. He was a knifenut too (not as much as I am, but still respectable),and among his artifacts was a Frost hawkbill with a 4" blade and a brass eagle for a bolster - gaudy lookin' thing, kinda scary too. The whole time we were there, she used it for opening packages and cutting tape, etc. She fell in love with that knife and asked if she could have it for keeps, and for the memory of my dad (who she'd never met). Of course I said, "Darlin', if that's the one you like, it's yours."

So I convexed it when we got home and now she carries it around in her purse, or her pocket when she's gardening, and uses it all the time. The society ladies in town get a little nervous when she snaps it open to slit an envelope or something but mostly it's good clean fun. The scissors now sit in the kitchen drawer collecting dust.
