So I have been playing with knives for a "few" years now and have a couple of designs that I have drawn up and was wondering if anyone knew of any good instructional books to get me started on bring these blades to life. I didn't find anything in the Noobs go here thread so any suggestions? I have the garage cleaned out and ready to set up.

Thanks
George

I figured it might be better to do a bit of reading instead of blowing through a bunch of good steel before giving it a go

"How to Make Knives" by Loveless and Barney. I refer to it once in a while and STILL see things in it I didn't before.

yes a another  for this book, its very good. and if your a forger the you should get The complete bladesmith and the master bladesmith.

As much as I like free stuff, I really feel I should purchase the books and support the guys that took the time to write down and share their knowlege. Reading in the bathroom is good too

Of course...they are previews...pages are missing, quality isn't perfect... or whatever...

..but now you know some book titles, the authors name, the publishers name, the ISBN #'s and you have a good idea of what's in the book so you can make the judgment for yourself whether they are worth buying or not.

The whole point of google books is to get you to buy the books.
