i'm very easy and i went very easy. i made a suggestion for a professional product line in a thread of exactly that matter and get instantly accused of spamming or any affiliation with that brand. it turned out that it was a misundertanding. cmon man, get real.Easy man, easy. Just a polishing discussion...no need to bring politics into it or be aggressive towards other members.
If it was cost effective, importing direct would be an option. Germans do make excellent products.
good, sorry, then i misread your posting above, but accusing someone of spamming or any affiliation just bc something is soley mentioned once in a thread of that matter - plus kvetching in the location of the product made, did put me in that direction. my bad. good if i was wrong.I don't care where the product is made. My point is that no one with any sense is going to pay for shipping from Germany when there are multitudes of good polishing solutions in North America right down the street at your local hardware/home improvement/auto shop.
menzerna products are available ww. plus jescar https://www.jescarguitar.com/menzerna-solid-bar-compounds/ is distributing them in north america to my knowledge plus the menz brand is surely sold there as well somewhere without you needing to import them. i didnt check but i'm sure there are places in na that sell them - prob as simple as amazon, maybe some professional tool store or whatever. (not sure if there is still this massive value compared to over here tho [atlantic tax in both directions like with other products])
look shane, overall thats exactly the point i made but pointed out that with the mulitude of products available down the street that there are only few actually producing them and even less at the top. menz is one of them imho, nothing wrong with pointing that out and anybody can still buy bark river compounds and be happy with them - i have zero problems with that.
the density of their lineup make them an excellent choice many others simply dont or cant offer - be it due to knowledge or whatever. maybe for the average knife guy not necessary and overkill, but there is nothing wrong in pointing to professional products when hobbies are practiced this excessive like with knife people. since there are craftmen and enthusiasts here, i still see nothing wrong to pointing to professional high end products and not the expensive funny ones packaged in funny quantities.
at the end of the day you buy what you buy - i'm cool with your choice eitherway
