Good knife shops in Buenos Aires?

I´m going next month to Buenos Aires (Argentina)to spend some weeks. Does anybody know good knife shops in that city? I´m specially interested in Argentinian military knives. Any source for them? Thanks in advance.

I was in BA last summer. I never found any purely cutlery stores, the kind that would be selling military style knives, but I did pick up a sweet blade nonetheless. There's a chain of leather stores in BA called El Nochero--besides expensive leather products, this store carries native style Argentine fixed blade knives. The blades are from Solingen (Boker and Co) and there are several handle options. Mine has a five inch drop point blade with a leather braided handle and a silver pommel--very snazzy. These knives are not tactical or military in style, but are worth checking out. Ask around about the store, there are several located in Buenos Aires.

Thank you very much for your info, Soloman. I´ve already got some typical Argentinian and Uruguayan knives, but I´ll give a chance to El Nochero. Anyway, it´s a very good starting point to find what I´m looking for. Thanks again.

Try a search on one of the custom knifemaker's sites. One of the graduate student I worked with mentioned a custom maker with a store in Buenos Aires that was quite famous. Sorry I can't rememeber the name but I did find his address by doing the search.
