Good Large survival under $150ish

I'd have to say that in overall price-to-performance ratio, and value, the Becker line is your best bet.

That said, my overall favorite big blade in your price range is the ESEE Junglas. The fit and finish of the ESEE blades is just spectacular. I love it!
 
Yet another vote for (and gratuitous photo of) the thrifty yet mighty Becker BK9. You *will* be assimilated.

The BK9's natural habitat is an unforgiving place full of things that need chopped and cut. Good thing I had Old Blue!
