Hoping to have a little input from other "knife nuts". I have carried a Buck 110 for a long time. Two really; 1 I lost, 1 I have given away. Time for something new. I carry a Case stockman as my EDC along with a Benchmade Apparition . I'm looking for a good "traditional" lockback to be carried in a sheath (besides a Buck). Something around 3.5 to 4.5 " should work. Any suggestions. I would like to spend around $50.00. Thanks in advance!!!

My suggestions might not fit your price range, and may not be seen as entirely traditional but I believe two solid lock backs you should consider are the AG Russell Strikeforce, and the Lakota Phoenix. The Lakota in particular is a sleeper hit that comes in AUS8 (made at the Moki facility) and has a G-10 handle with pocket clip. I came across this company by fluke online and some of their items seem really well made despite their being a smaller company.

The Strikeforce has the solid warranty backing of AG Russell with their top notch customer service. It comes in VG-10 with an aluminum handle with G-10 in-lays and basically comes across as a 110 that's fool-proof. At around $100 for either of them you should be able to get a decently priced lockback.

Not into this type but,how about the Case Copperlock? They go from about $60.00 to about $100.00
(this one has greenish scales)

Isn't the Queen Mountain Man lockback right about that price point? And in D2...

I LOVE that particular Case!! I happen to collect green Case knives.

I'll second the Queen Mountain Man. They're patterned after the Remington 1306 which sold in the 1920s IIRC.

Cumberland sells the Cocobolo version for $55, and the Carved Stag Bone version for $59. Here's the Carved Stag Bone version:

Bill Horn at Cumberland is a great guy to deal with.

If you change your mind and are ever willing to look at Bucks again, Cabelas has an Alaskan Guide 110 with a Bos heat treated S30V blade for $59.99:

I personally really like my Fallkniven U2. It isn't a traditional looking lock back, but it IS an excellent one.

I'm not sure.... the Buck with s30v. I might go back to the old fav with steel on roids :)

i agree with Blue Man.Get the spderco Endura or if its a little to long get thre Delica,(shorter blade). If they still have them go for the Goddard folder, there all good but my favorite was the micarta handled one.(You may still be able to find them.;)
