Good, long lasting knives?

Any quality knife will likely outlast you, especially if you own and use many knives. I'm sure my quality knives will outlive me, especially my CRKs.

But depending on what you do with it, a folding knife might only last a couple or a few years. My late dad grew up on a farm and worked outside his whole life, and over the years he used up several pocketknives. Mostly, he bought one knife at a time, used that one knife hard on a daily basis, then tossed the sharpened-down remains in an old toolbox and went out and bought another. By then, the blades were worn down (or broken) to a small fraction of their original sizes. Usually those were Camillus pocketknives. If he'd had something like a Delica back in the day, he likely would have used up one of those, too. He did leave behind an old, well-used, convex-ground Buck 110 that I still have that is still good and functional. I'm guessing he bought that later in his working life.
