Little late, but hang in there. You mean a lot to some of us here bro. Want you to know that.

Oh, hell with it. Why does it take us so long to discover how much some people mean to us, and then even after that not stay in closer touch?

For some reason I seem to have it in my head that I heard Yvsa say the operation was postponed again? Either way, good luck Yvsa. Lotta patients have gone as far as writing the operation theyre going to have in marker on themselves, just to make sure the doctors remember what theyre doing. Though, hopefully these doctors will have learned the whole measure twice cut once saying and not the other way around.:(

Thanks guys, but as Federico has said, "The surgery has been postponed."
I probably should've made a new post, but just added it to the old one.
In the process of the pre-op tests it was found that my potassium was low. This is what landed me in the hospital a year ago the first few days of March.:(
Don't take the little trace amounts of salts otherwise known as electrolytes in your blood for granted.
It doesn't take much either over or under to throw your whole body out of kilter!!!!

Anyway I'm headed in to the doc's in just a while to get another blood test. The 3rd one in less than a week!!!!
Hopefully the potassium will be in the acceptable tables and the doc will give the surgeon a good to go signal.
Only until I get the potassium up will the surgery be allowed so all y'all know as much about when it will take place as I do.;)

Yvsa, hoping to get a surgery date today.:grumpy:

Ummmmm: one question - that arises whenever I think of inhospitables and surgeons...

Does the smoke coming out of my ears count toward your return to health too?
:p ;) :D

Hmmn: maybe I'll go kill a sagebrush and burn in the mother of pearl shell I got.
( You know me better than that - I only take a little sagebrush and offer some tobbaco around the plant. )

I did pick up a mother of pearl shell which is what one of the guys out here puts sweet grass into to burn it for blessing. But it doesnt work with the inscense sticks. So you'll have to go with some chandan ( sandalwood?)inscence the Sherpa gave me.

PS - chandan going up as I type this.

What's the old saying? " A banana a day keeps the doctor away"? :D

Good luck with the surgery, when ever it is. :)

Prayers headed your way for a successful operation and speedy recovery Yvsa. Still, if the opportunity arises, pinch a pretty nurse for me. ;)

Sarge

..i didn't think of them as salts...but the medical profession has long known a slight variance can kill.

Damn I'm sorry to hear that Edutsi:( But at least they are watching out for you and don't want to do anything that can hurt you worse.

You mean a lot to some of us here bro. Want you to know that.

and as usual, Rusty said it for me.

I am proud that I often have the same thoughts as Rusty...and maybe, just maybe, a little bit afraid? ;) :D

Well, then good luck on the electrolyte test.

And here's hoping that everything after goes exactly as planned and so well that luck's not involved.

Maui Rob: If you had a doctor do a cardiac procedure on you against your will when you knew there wouldn't be any cardiac blockage found but couldn't get it thru his head cause he didn't listen that it'd been checked out twice before in the last 3 or 4 years you too might be upset and feel like ripping his still beating heart from his chest and then cutting it loose from his body. Especially if you refused to sign and told him no five times. And you were too out of it on demerol and then a major tranquilizer to call for family help or read the form. But this thread is about Yvsa, and besides, I've got an obsidian scalpel to knap.

Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?

for you, Yvsa. I'll make the healing runes on birch bark, then send up with fire and smoke...

Keith

Thanks Keith and the rest of all y'all. It's really wonderful to have friends and family.:)

Seems like I was confused about this morning as well.
I was so condamned sure it was today and Barbie didn't set my ass down and get my attention.
Monday is when I will get the next blood test, guess I'm just anxious to get it over with.
I don't want to still be healing from one surgery before I have the other, that is if I decide to do it.
Got lottsa questions about getting the S.I.joints fused, first and foremost is if I will lose any more mobility and how much and if I will be able to accept anymore loss.
I'm getting terribly tired of recovering from first one thing and then another.:(

Thanks again for all the well wishes, prayers and smoke!!!!

Absolutely no offense meant Rusty...it was a heart-felt compliment tempered with some teasing at the end to satisfy my "guy" aversion to displays of affection:o I fully understand your beef with that heart surgeon, and would feel the same way myself:)

I did mean what i said about being proud to often feel as you do in matters that matter, so to speak...

OK, Maui Rob, just so's you ain't a pansy tryin to worm yor one-eyed snake ... well, that just ain't my type!

:D :D :D
