Good Morning and Good Night

Very Nice set TripleT!! I've could never use/carry either of those tho. I use my CRK's and have

more than I need now.

I don't have nearly the experience level as Lone_Wolfe but in my personal experience:

Mother of pearl is much more common than star sapphire in the night sky.

I have seen a good number of both citrine and alamandine (type of garnet I believe so red) in morning sun.

He's correct, the MOP is the standard inlay fr the NS, the others are much harder to come by. I have a opal mosaic on order, that's the only way to get that. The Regulr i my pic is Paua shell, another I've seen very few of.

He's also correct that Almandine is a type of garnet. It's not popular in jewelry like other types of garnet, but CRK has been using it as an inlay for years. I have a pre-date code UG that has it. CRK used mostly Citrine in the MS for years, recently I'm seeing a lot more of the Almandine.

Per your request....

Can't see OP's pics on tapatalk, but wow....

Here is my contribution. It's a small regular night sky with the mop full moon look and stars. Wish it was a large but am happy to have it. It was listed on here years ago and I snagged it a minute or so later. I got lucky....!!!

Thank you for all the photos. I love how each one is just a little bit different, keeping in the tradition of the unique graphic series while painting variations on a beautiful theme.

I love it, but I have to ask, why do you wish it was a large?

Personally I prefer the scale of the small with this kind of machining because the machining is smaller and more detailed. To me I think the small is a better expression of the skill and creativity that goes into the design.

I won't speak for nyfemaker and his beautiful example, but my own preference for larges is just a matter of having more real estate for these old eyes to see the design on.

How very pragmatic!

It makes perfect sense when I see that ROF in your sig. The more the merrier!

Totally agree! And in the case of my ROF's, the large has much more pronounced 'grain' in the damascus than the small. Not just visually, but textually as well. Big difference in the way they feel.

Personally I feel the large regular Sebenza is the finest folder ever designed. As great as the small regular is, it's just that, small. I find the large Sebenza to be perfect for me. The small is just a tad too small. I do buy them from time to time when something special catches my eye. For me though, it's large all the way. And before people fill my pm and email box asking if I wanna sell my smalls.....the answer is No....!!!

The engraving isn't original from CRK. I did it myself.

Nyfe, I suppose that is what makes us collectors :) I'm glad to hear it for some reason.

Kailibra, that is outstanding. Do you do engraving or similar for a living?
