I think a Wenger Sandard Issue is hard to beat.

Only one knife exists in our time that can outdo the Soldat, and that's a Farmer.![]()
That's a Vic Pioneer with a saw, right? I have no use for a small saw in my knife but, the extra width it gives the knife could be a plus if you have large hands.
The two reasons that I like the Wenger SI over the Victorinox Farmer are:
1. I like the bail that is offered on the Wenger. Yes, I know that you can close the blade on it and ruin the knife's edge. I guess the small lanyard ring offered on the Vic Pioneer/ Farmer is a better design. I will give you that.
2, The main blade's nail nick is positioned slightly different on the Wenger and I find it a little better to use with my short nails. This is the main reason that I like Wenger over Victoinox.
Let's see, the Farmer fills your hand better and you don't have to worry about the bail chipping the blade. The nail nick on the SI is not a big deal, just a personal ergonomics thing.
OK, you win. I admit it, the Farmer is the better knife.
No, they're both on equal footing...the Farmer just has that extra utility and panache.![]()
LOL. Panache? Maybe if it has colored Alox scales.
I am amazed at how popular the Farmer model is. I would not think that people have that much of a need for a tiny saw.
Have you ever seen a SAK called the Black Beauty ?
Quick slightly on-topic question.
Can the can opener on a swiss army knife work opening a gallon paint can?
