Good multi, other than Leatherman

It may be worth considering that the original post was ~6 weeks ago and the original poster still has only 1 post in these forums.
I don't know about everyone else, but that fact says a lot to me.

This keeps coming up, so once again:

There is no basis for labeling Leatherman as anti-2nd amendment.

AFAIK, the only thing Tim Leatherman ever did to honk off some people was to endorse John Kerry for President in 2004. Leatherman was one of 60 representatives of outdoor/sporting equipment and clothing makers who signed a statement critical of the Bush administration on environmental policies, supporting Kerry as an alternative. There is no document I could find with an internet search that has him weighing in on any other public issue, yet from that time on Leatherman has been the target of a boycott, accused of being anti gun and on the wrong side of many other hotbutton issues. I regard this as wrong, also nuts. Leatherman supported Kerry on one known policy matter, the other guy won anyway, so why the hate? In that election, the country was divided almost 50/50. Isn't it time to move on?

In my research I have been unable to find documentation anywhere that Leatherman is anti-gun or has supported any anti-second amendment cause. Whenever this has come up, I have asked the person who raised it to show some hard evidence. Knowing somebody who heard something from someone else doesn't qualify. So far, no response. In all sincerity, if you have a credible source, please post it. Otherwise, you are acting on unsubstantiated rumors.

It's your money. If you don't like Leatherman for being anti-Bush and think it worth a boycott, I wouldn't argue, although it's more political passion than I can wrap my head around.

Can't we all just... get along?[/QUOT

Thanks for the info. I agree. The hate is wrong and nuts. I have seen a couple of other snipes against Tim Leatherman with no reason given and wondered what he had done. Some have suggested Swiss Tool, and although I haven't tried one, I'm convinced that they are pretty good, although a bit out of my price range. It's interesting that some people are willing to pay more for an imported product in order to punish an American maker for making a political endorsement on behalf of the environment

Super necro post, but since you did I will add a link where Tim addressed the comments. He is in no way anti gun and is a hunter himself.
