You're correct, but it shall certainly be a good show of intelligence and willpower if he could prove such a claim. Me I have little care either way, but to me, there was nothing mystical about the tale anyway, and it's validity ambiguos to me.

Atlantis never existed. Plato wrote two books, the Timaeus and the Critias. In those books - talking about a time 9,000 years in his past - he invented the island of Atlantis to use as a moral example of what happens to a country when its people go bad.

But your own Donovan has written a song about it, so it must be real.

It isn't possible to make a blast powerfull enough to rotate Earth from a volcano, Thera or not ( actually Thera's volcano was greater than Crocatoa). Furthermore, such an explosion should have blown Earth out of orbit, not merely capsize it. Lastly, geological evidence in the ocean suggest that, according to the continental drift theory, now continent has existed between Europe and America since Paggea. Sorry.
