I need a good fix blade to pair up with my game warden size dosnt matter as long as its conftable on a belt. it needs to be

good at Chopping(this is a need)
confoartable in hand(this is a need)
looks good (not very important but always a plus)
VERY dependable (this is a need)
very good steel (also a need)

its going to be a all around utility knife.

I am looking at the swamp rat ratweiler chopper but the steel isn't very good in the catagorie of rust reisestant. besides that i have no idea

$250 max.

well i ment to say it isnt the best. people keep saying if you strip it, it rusts in matter of hours...

You will have to handle some knive because none of us has any idea what would be comfortable in your hand. Only you can determine that. That said there are a load of good fixed Blade knives out there. My first choice would be something from Ontario Knife Co, of course there again what I favor may be way off from what you would consider. Try to handle as many of your top choices as you can.

I think you are asking for too much. There are many knives thay fit the bill when you don't focus on corrosion resistance as much.

CRK Project I. I'd imagine for chopping you want at least a 7" blade. If not the CRK Shadow IV or the CRK Mountaineer II.

Might exceed $250, check the prices, I didn't see that till after I wrote this.

To pair up with a Game Warden? My first thought would be Bark River.

Leu Custom made me a 3.5" blade, kozuka. It is a chisel grind but he will do a V grind also. I do think you would be pleased with this little work horse.
Lycosa

Or a hatchet.
Timberline bush pilot. 440 stainless, that solves your rust problem.
Chops better than any knife out there.
Your game warden can do all the rest.

A second for Bark River. The Rivers Edge is one of several could meet your requirements well. It is 12C27 stainless, rides very comfortably, and is a great looking knife to boot. Lifetime guarantee so no worries about dependability. This model may be be a little hard to locate right now, but check out the links at DLT and KSF for other options.

Doesn't being a good chopper define the size? Fallkniven S1 probably the min for chopping from them (~5" blade), but A1 (~6")or A2 (~8") are larger. Definitely dependable & good steel.

+1 on the S1 and A1.
I do question the chopping needs though. Get a smaller knife and a folding saw. Less combat but safer.
A Bahco/ Laplander folding saw cuts better than a big knife, and much safer.

I am not forcing anyone to do like me..... well, yes I do :)
Anyway, here is my choice.

Folding saw, F1, LM Fuse
