Good quality but not crazy priced folder

Check out the Buck Vantage Force Pro.

Steel is S30V, the 3.25 inch blade is BOS heat treated, and handle is G10.

Choice of slot or flipper opening.

This tough new model is sturdy, can play with the big boys -- and is considerably cheaper.

A bit hard to find because it has just been released, but well worth considering, even if you decide to buy one of the more expensive competition.

IMO Kerhsaw has the most offerings in what you are looking for plus , if I may sound like a broken record , they have the top warranty in the business.

get a hest folder! i got mine for $175 shipped, best knife ive owned in its niche.

and if ur not looking for a heavier duty folder, get a g10 delica!

I like my Sage 2, nice and light but cuts like a laser.

I'm waiting on a 0551...might replace the Sage.

Another knife to look at are the Benchmade Ritter Grips.

What is your maximum comfortable carry weight, tip up or down? Please list the qualities you value most in an edc folder. With 200 bucks you have a ton of wiggle room. There are so many good production knives available for 200 or less, I dont know where to begin.

I have an A100 and also the ZT 0551. The Emerson is terrific - simple, straightforward, wicked sharp, albeit with that funny grind. The 0551 is a little pricier, but I have to say that if it had a flipper it would be the perfect knife for me.

I also love the ZT 030x series - if you don't mind the size, they are awesome.

I also have an Al Mar SERE 2000 folder, and it's a very nice knife, although I prefer the 0551.

Good luck.

I would agree on the Manix 2 as well as the ParaMilitary 2, both fantastic knives. I also like the Kershaw JYD CB kmife.

I haven't used either, but two knives that are frequently recommened are the Ontario Rat1, and the Cold Steel American Lawman.

I'll recommend something a bit different... a Victorinox Alox model, such as the Soldier, Pioneer, or Farmer, and a Leatherman Squirt with pliers. Both are great for all of the non-knife things that seem to pop up in a day.

kwackster,are those hogues autos?
nice lookin knives,
jd

Those are the manual opening button-lock models that came out last year. Excellent folders, that's for sure. They're being sold at more places now, so they're not as expensive as before (Roughly, between $135-165).

I'm not sure the autos are out yet.
