Good Slicing Folder

Got myself a good beefy FB (RD4)recently by asking questions so I'll keep it up. I have a pretty good selection of good quality folders but I want a really good slicer. Have almost settled on a full-size Manix but would like other suggestions. I'm prejudiced against liner locks but would consider. Probably wouldn't consider a riveted folder (for cleanout purposes). Ideas??

Thanks
Bob

Any of the full flat grind Spydercos should do just fine:
Manix/Mini
Mailitary
Para
Stretch
Caly 3 ZDP

You can have Tom Krein grind them down even further for a pocket scalpel.

Also the Kershaw ZDP Mini Cyclone looks good, especially with the Krein regrind.

The manix is an excellent choice. I prefer the military for weight reasons. Also the Ritter Griptilian is a hell of a slicer. When the new Stretch comes out it might be worth looking at.

Have you considered reprofiling one of the knives you already own?

The Spyderco Military is a great knife.. I just bought the new CPM D2 version myself. But if you really are after a "Slicer" I must stress that a recurve is the best in that field.

Manix is the best slicer I have, Military close but I like the Manix better. Lone Wolf T2 very good slicer as well but no protection against sliding up on the blade (neither does the Military).

I am waiting for my Manix to come in the mail. The characteristic of being a good slicer is one of the things I'm most excited about regarding the Manix. Like a little kid at Christmas. There was a key in the mailbox today, which means that I go to the other side of the mailboxes to check the locked postal delivery lockers. I about crapped myself thinking that it had already arrived. When I discovered that it was only a book my wife ordered, well, let's just say I was a bit let down.

ritter grip or para-mil. thinner blade than the manix. you ruled out rivets but buck 110 slices pretty well also.

Thanks everybody!! I will give all your suggestions some thought. I really like the idea of having Tom K. regrind something (maybe old, maybe new). I'll report on my success after some testing.

It's too bad you ruled out rivet and pinned folders.....

I have to give another recommendation for the Military.

If you're considering the Manix then I'd suggest that the Military will make a much better EDC, unless you specifically want the bruiser lock.
The blade on the Military is canted forward more than most other knives, even most Spyderco's, making it that much easier to make a cut.
The handle is big, solid, and very light at the same time. I doubt there are many knives that match it's ergo's.
You should at least handle one to see if you like it, though I doubt you would regret buying one anyway.

Try a Buck Mayo TNT. Carefully. A hollow ground S30V Bos heat treated blade profiled to cut, and mine does so much better than my SnG (SnG's are really for rougher duty.)

I do not have a Military or a Manix, but my CentofanteIII is my best slicer. I find the high hollow grind parts the matrerial and does not bind the blade.

About any version of the Spydy Military will fit the bill, here is a recent one I just received;

of course made on our own home planet, always buy Earth products!

Straight shot down to the edge you can see the flats angling off from it;
measures aproximately .022" just above the bevels

and a shot down the flats also showing the radius they put on the G10 scales

Very nice folder, good slicer!
