Good small lantern at wally world

Bought this lantern today at wal mart and so far am very impressed, seems to be just the ticket to read by in the tent. It has 3 modes 3 LEDs lit, 6 LEDS lit or one flashing red LED. It runs off 4 AAs and puts out a modest amount of light, it should have a very long run time but that hasn't been tested. Did I mention it cost just a little over 4 dollars. :thumbup: Chris

No, it is the camping brand that wal mart sells. The thing I like the most is the size, it is about the same size as a candle lantern, just a little taller than a 12 oz can. Chris
 
I'll have to give that one a look, thanks for showing it.

I also had been thinking about a candle lantern, so this will be a toss up. I like the notion of a little possible heat in a tent with the candle type, though.
 
Another really really nice LED lantern is the River Rock K2 LED Lantern available at Target stores for about $20-$25. Its a first rate lantern.
 
Here is the Rock River lantern. Looks a lot like runningboar's, but I think its a different flavor.
 
Based on the photo and the price my guess is that the Walmart lantern is a low-cost low-quality Rock River look-a-like with several lower output LEDs.
 
Great lantern i could use one of those for the tent. That thing in the back ground is pretty cool too.
