Good snow boots

For heavy duty use, I add my endorsement to all those who have suggested Sorel or Lacrosse pac boots. However, for a lightweight, warm boot, my first choice is Steger mukluks, made up there in Ely, MN. They have a bunch of different models, with various materials for the uppers, and several heights. I own a couple of pairs, and they are great for knocking around in the snow. I've worn them in temperatures as low as -50 ambient. My feet get cold easily, and they stay comfortable in the mukluks. I wouldn't wear 'em for logging, or construction work, but I have worn them when I've been on my feet for many hours receiving commodities for the Government during an ice storm mission, and they worked out fine. They're on the internet. Enjoy your boot shopping!
