I'm looking for a good source for stabilized wood blocks that are at least 7 x 1.5 x 1.5" (Razor scales are longer than knife scales.)

Any suggestions? I'm hoping for some cool woods like lacewood and tiger-striped maple.

Thanks,
Josh

hate to say it but your best bet is ebay wood and send out for stablizing
i have yet to get most woods around here over 5.5 inch
i have a box comming in in the next day or so with redwood lace in big blocks and some other stuff

the box of wood totaled around 500$ for both the wood and the shipping/ stablizing

Burl Source often has oversized blocks. I've gotten several blocks from him that range from 7 to 9"

I'm at my shop cutting and stabilizing for the next couple weeks.....I do custom cuts all the time...send me an email if you like...

Send me a PM and I will reply with a local supplier whom I just located that has great product at unbelievable prices. I received samples and they are excellent. Just too far and expensive to ship across the country and across the boarder.

Most of the knife handle wood sellers can supply wood in that size. You just have to give them a call when you are ready to make a purchase. It is not a size that will be cut for inventory but most should be able to provide what you need. It will work out better if you are getting several at once since it will probably involve cutting and stabilizing a batch special for you.
