Good Steel Rust Prevention Coating?

Hey Mike, I like the Rustoleum hammered-finish paints. The oils in the rustoleum will seal off any rust thats already formed. Good stuff. Takes longer to dry than I like, but it works well on steel. If you go the wax route, I use straight butchers paste wax on my table saw and bandsaw table. Works great!

When I get rich and famous and can afford a KMG, I am going to have the whole thing chrome plated. Just because I am rich and famous and can. :D Either that or I was going to paint it black with a nice flame paint job. (remember, I used to be "junkcarsrock" cause I like hot rods :))

Makes me wonder now that I am getting stupid. You know that chameleon paint that changes colors when you look at it from different angles? Gold to green to purple, etc. Well, if your grinder was painted with that paint and you were a beginner, like me, wouldn't it aid you in grinding position to be more consistent? "Hey wait a minute, my grinder was gold yesterday now it is green, I must be standing at the wrong angle of the dangle." Laugh at me now, but wait till that is the big thing!

I tried straight boiled linseed oil once; it dried into a gunky mess that was a bitch to get off. But the blades didn't rust...

all this stuff sounds awesome but i like trick's idea the best..... definately a good way to keep the right stance while grinding a blade!
