I picked up a Survival book at Borders about 1 month ago, The title is "Build the Perfect Survival Kit" By John D. McCann. The book is about building Survival Kits from small mini kits to large Vehicle kits. Alot of info and alot of good Pics. This book does not teach you how to Survive but how to choose items for your kit or kits and why! Overall a good read with lots of good pics and good ideas on building kits.

I got the same book as a gift over the hollidays and am pleased with it and much of the ideas... it's not perfect but one hell of a reference book:thumbup:

another good book to have is the little green Army Ranger survival manual if you can find it. its small enough to keep in your backpack and tells you everything you would ever need in a survival situation. how to make shelter, fire, water(in the desert etc) find food fish and much more. my army brat couzin gave it to me but i bet a surplus store could have one.

I have been building kits for guys in my different units for the last 25 years, always open to new ideas. I ordered the book yesterday. I will tell you what I think when I get it. thanks for the info.
