Check out that blade. You get a hamon and a tanto blade profile, and a handle that kinda looks traditional-ish. (Robert, I threw in the -ish for you buddy!)
Obviously, what isn't so traditional is the sheath, no habaki, the handle materials, the blade blueing, etc. But for $75, it may be just what you are looking for. I think the blade looks nice. Search the net for info on it before you purchase though.
To me it looks like a Chen version of the Ancient Edge Hissatsu. You may recall that the Hissatsu looked unique (it is a very old style of tanto, and a rare one- Osoraku Zukuri) and was made of decent materials, but the price was thought to be expensive, and the sheath was criticized. This Chen blade looks like is has an even worse sheath, but the blade is nice.
By the way, I hear that CRKT will be producing the Hissatsu some time soon. You may want to wait for that, though it will hardly be traditional. Modern materials/production meets traditional input on design may be a good description.
