Reading through shop talk this morning, I came upon a thread that reminded me of an experience at university. The class was animal nutrition and the prof was saying
"Unfortunately, the microbial contribution to digestion of fibrous materials in bovids has the inescapable consequence of the production of methane gas."
He could have said
"Cows fart"
There is value in using plain language. It reaches a broader audience. We have some great teachers here. Thank you.
I keep this on my desktop to remind me - for many things.
