:)

I realized the other day that it had been a month since I did any forging due to working on other projects.

Four of the smaller hunters were mostly finished, I just had to finish forging the tangs on a couple the top 5 I forged yesterday.

the first one is a 10" slicer/carver I made for myself to use in the kitchen (CruForgeV).

The second one is a 8" 1095, also supposed to be a kitchen knife for myself, (gotta test these things for myself you know). It is looking more like a recurve fighter than a kitchen knife but I'm sure I can make it work.

Third is another slicer, 9" I am making for my boss, also CruForgeV

4 and 5 are orders; 4 is a 8" fillet knife, a slight recurve but when I narrow down the tip it will straighten out and 5 is a hunter, both CruforgeV

6 & 7 just random hunters of CruForgeV

8&9, more random hunters of 1095.

Thanks for looking; comments welcome.

Looks Good man! I'm lucky if I forge one out per forge session. your forging from flat stock right? That 2nd one would make a sick fighter man...

Looks like you've been at it for a wile, nice tapers on those tangs! Do you level them on a disk grinder, or fit the scales as is? Thats one reason why I don't like to do full tang knives, I never get the taper good enough for the scales to sit well.

Jason, Thanks! I do forge mostly from flat stock. sometimes round or drill rod but these are all from flat stock. I'm leaning towards that second one being a fighter (possibly for the KITH) and I'll just make myself another kitchen knife.

John, Thank you. I made a flat platen for my grinder and try to get the tangs as flat as possible before glue-up. I really don't like having to do a lot of grinding so that is motivating me to get my forging abilities to a higher level. I started forging in Nov, 08.

Thanks guys.

I just had to make myself a proper kitchen knife so I went at it again...

the top one is the 10" chef knife of 1095

Middle one is another slicer/carver from Admirals 1/8" 1084. Damn that stuff is nice; quenched to 11" for a 10" blade and it is straight as an arrow. Going to have to get some more before it is all gone.

Bottom is another recurve fighter just for fun, got a little carried away on the curve though and it's not as nice as the first one.

I was going to edit my last post but I'll just add here that the reason I don't like grinding is because electricity isn't free but my forging fuel is free so that is quite the motivation to get good at forging.

Looking good. I'm with you on forge time, it's been so long I've forgotten the last time I lit mine.
