good tom brown tracker clone ?

You're asking us to provide you with where to buy a clone of a reputable knife?

You should really read the rules before posting....anywhere: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/announcement.php?f=746&a=98

Section 3 rule 3: Do not list items or offer services that are illegal. This includes counterfeit, clone, and knock off items. We don't want them here, period.

And any knife you buy should weigh less than 40 lbs....

I got the TOPS full size version in a trade once. Looked and felt awesome but wasn't my style, a little too Excalibur-store art-knife mall-ninja for my tastes. Sold it for a tidy profit, though!

By "clone" I hope you mean similar knife and not fake/knockoff. In that case, its unlikely you will find a similar knife as it's such a unique design. If were you, I'd get the TOPS Mini Tom Brown Tracker. A quick search and I found it for about 66 pounds plus shipping

I would assume he meant clone as in something like the TOPS version instead of the custom. I know there is the TOPS version, and I believe Scorpion knives makes one similar, and if I am not mistaken they are UK based. Many of the custom makers here can make you something like it, but it will be a bit more expensive (you get to choose your steel, though).

Yes but he said clone. Also, google can easily come up with the legit tops version in less than a second, and it is way over his budget. All I did was type in the title of his thread (minus clone & good) and several options are available. Took way less time than creating a thread. Google is like magic!

Sorry man I just registered and havnt read the rules yet but I have been dying to get a tracker for a while and I didn't mean to offend when I said clone I meant a good copy of the tracker as I am not willing to throw 299 pounds away for a knife and I am asking where I can find a good maker of a wsk knife

The tops tracker t4 is a little small for my taste I am trying to find something that is similar in size to the t1 but cheaper

I didn't mean to be funny when I used the word "clone" I couldn't find the right word for it I am not trying to buy anything illegally I collect knives and I wish to add a wsk style knife to my collection

Such an old thread but it left me wondering ... what's all the fuss with the word "clone" about ... ?

Ganzo took an Ontario RAT-1 (or ESEE) knife, changed the liner lock for an "axis" lock. With Spyderco Paramilitary they did the same. And is selling it legally.

Counterfeit is about making a knife looking like Tom Brown Tracker and selling it as Tom Brown Tracker, not as ... say ... John Black Scout.

Trying to get an illegal item on a forum such as bladeforums is stupid. But the world is full of clones that are sold legally.

Clones are IP theft. That's what all the fuss is about.
Ganzo sucks, Spyderco and Benchmade came to agreements about using each others features on specific models and no, clones (in terms of knives) are not sold legally.

Edit: Why would you resurrect a four year old clone thread?

As I recall it no one much wanted a Tom Brown knife until the Tracker movie came out. At that point, there was a legal dispute about who owned the rights to the design, Tom Brown or the maker Dave Beck. At some point, Beck was allowed to produce his knife & Tom Brown allowed Top's to produce "official" version. Now similar looking knives are being made in Pakistan & sold on Amazon & as neither Brown or Beck is suing, I've got to assume the design is sort of public domain at this point.
RE the OP's question, the versions selling on Amazon in your price range are from Pakistan & probably only fit for wall hanging. Given the UK's current knife stance, there is a real question about it being seized by Customs. Your best bet would be to find a UK knifemaker & have him make you one. Figure $200-$300.

Well now I'm curious, did the OP get his clone or did Benicio del Toro and Tommy Lee Jone take him out? So many unanswered questions!

If you search the word clone you will see your answer. Also people here don't like reviving old threads. Here's one of many. .

Aah, I'm sorry then!

Posting in threads that are years old is annoying and very much "frowned upon".
I'm used to ressurecting old threads - but usually only stuff like eg. "share you victorinox". I didn't realize this one was in fact different. Sorry.
