Good Torx driver set for spyderco?

there is only one answer , Wiha .
you can get good set on bay for 20 or so , you will have less stripped screws and those will last a lot longer, I still use 5years old pieces and I use them everyday.

I have several sets and these see the most use for knives. All of the sizes are covered, and I much prefer the larger grips over the slimmer handled Wiha set I have. Just used the T15, T8 and T6 on the DLC M4 Spyderco Military tonight...

These are the style I like for knives. I’ve heard a lot of good on the forum about Wiha. Seems like this subject has come up quite a bit in the short amount of time I’ve been a member here. I’m gonna stick with my Snap-On’s because I’m biased.......... :D

A hand filling handle is well worth having on any tool (including knives) !:thumbsup:

I just use a cheap torx bit set that I bought at Harbor Freight for around $7-8.

Dude- Do yourself a favor and read Dogdrawz response aboveo_O.

I did but I haven't had a problem.

The key is to choose the proper sized bit and to make sure it is properly seated before applying torque to the bit and if the screw/bolt won't budge, don't try to force it. Applying heat w/a soldering iron and/or a light impact can loosen most locktited screws/bolts that won't come loose otherwise.

I haven't stripped one yet doing this.

I had a some Craftsman torx drivers. Took apart a knife. It was ruined . I had a husky mutli torx bit set. It was no good. In the middle of taking a knife apart I had to go get another T6. Went to the nearest store and got one and it didn't last but the one time.

I don't understand why it took me so long but save yourself the trouble and get a wiha set. I got this one for a good price and haven't looked back since. They fit perfect and will last. I have confidence that screws won't be stripped or will have any problems with the driver. There stuff is quality. By this once vs the other brands multiple times and save yourself the headache.

I've got the same set. It's a great bit assortment. One other thing I've added is an iFixIt aluminum driver (actually two, plus some extra T6/8/10 bits). It's an upgrade over the plastic driver in the set. If you want to keep it simple, you can get the iFixit driver plus 2 T6, a T8, T10, and #1 Philips from TRM, maker of the Neutron, here:

I appreciate that. I just purchased one. That's a pretty good deal for the price .

Sometimes, I feel like I collect torx tools as much as knives! I have ended up with a bunch of them over the years. Wiha, Wera, Craftsman (made by Wiha), Bondhus, Felo, Gedore, plus custom driver handles!

I have these and have to agree, they are awesome. The T6 hasn’t rounded over, which usually happens with cheaper torx sets.

Even though my tools don't go through frequent hard use , I do like having a good set of torx bits just like I enjoy having a good knife on
me.

I see that you got a collection of Hinderers , I like the appearance of the bottom left one. :)

Thank you ... not to hijack the OP's thread ... but that was a before picture I was just getting ready to use the tools to swap some scales and hardware ...

I won't post the pic here in the OP's thread but here is a link if you want to see a few changes ... one is the knife you liked ...

I have this same set and it’s great.

I bought this set for my recent GAW...a nice set...
Wiha 36291 Screwdriver Set, Torx, 6 Piece
I have sorta an eclectic set...some Wiha, some this 'n that.

I'm surprised that no one has ironically suggested the Benchmade set :D

Being Canadian I bought one of these for sale at Canadian Tire for only $10

So far it's been great. The bits seem to be hardened properly and haven't stripped, or stripped screws.
