I'm looking for a good wallet knife made of a decent steel that won't cost me too much (like atwoods) and i've tried the swiss cards and tool logic card tools. any others i should be aware of? these should also feasibly be able to fit in my wallet(so spyderco huge card knives won't work) Thanks in advance

I keep a kabar ldk in my wallet. I taped two of my business cards together on three sides to form sort of an envelope as a sheath. Haven't used it yet, usually because I have several other knives on me, but its nice to have. A buck harsook should fit too, but my wallet (technically a business card holder) isn't big enough.

im not much a fan of Ti cards after 2 of mine get dull after being in my wallet
good suggestion thoguh
thanks

the buck hartsook idea was pretty good
any other small FB knives out there that could the same?

I know some people carry a simple razor blade thats sheathed in the cardboard they're often packaged with. I used to do this with my old wallet that had a compartment that was perfect for it.

haha i was hoping for something a litte heavier duty
and better steel of course
how thick is the LDK?
and which do you think is better and why?
and hows the steel on the LDK?

Why would you need something heavy duty in the wallet, or good steel? If you're on this forum, I figure a wallet knife would be at least third in line if you needed a knife. I have no idea what the steel is on the LDK, I figure its gotta be something cheap. Its sharp and pointy though. Its kinda odd holding it, however. There was a thread awhile back debating the proper way to grip it, not a good indication of its ergonomics. The Hartsook is definitely a better knife; premium steel and a more usable shape, it just doesn't fit in my wallet.

edit: 1sks states the LDK is 9Cr18 Stainless

it definately needs to fit in my wallet and it probably should be stainless since it'll be in there
thanks anyways

I keep a Spyderco Cricket in my wallet - a neat little knife that works great

+1 on the microtech. It is a ti-card, but they at least offer ones in serrations so it might be less prone towards dulling in your wallet. Titanium may not hold an edge so great, but at least the cards are flat, thin, and light. A wallet knife usually is just a backup for when you have nothing else available anyhow, IMHO.

You can't go wrong with the Buck Hartsook, it's everything you want. Small, thin, great steel (s30v), and I think I got mine for less than $30 at New Graham.

If you are open to folders (non-tactical), one that is flat and won't take up much space is the the A.G. Russell 2.5 Titanium Lockback Folder.

I have a Byrd Flatbyrd that I keep in my wallet, fits in with no problem. Made in China for Spyderco, cost about $20 most places. Weighs 2.4 oz. How well it fits in your wallet will depend on the style of wallet you have, mine just slips into one of the pockets in the wallet, about the thickness of three credit cards and the same size.

Ya beat me to it. I don't own one, but I recall that it is VG-10, and the price is good, too.

another vote for the Hartsook....it's like 1 to 1.5 mm thin (sorry no calipers)....it's actually a little taller than my wallet, but I can see it working well in a bigger wallet ;)
